ABOUT WALLINGFORD ROTARY CLUB

The Rotary Club of Wallingford was chartered in February 1923. Often called spirited by visiting Rotarians, these same men and women contribute their time and talents to our numerous community service projects.

MISSION & HISTORY

The Rotary Club of Wallingford has been making waves since February 1923, just in time to join the 18th birthday bash of Rotary International! Our club’s members—both men and women—bring a whole lot more to the table than just the titles on their name badges.

Known for our “spirited” style (a nod from visiting Rotarians), we’re always diving into community service projects with plenty of energy and enthusiasm. Whether we’re sprucing up the Quinnipiac River, organizing a wine-tasting fundraiser for the Liberty Bank Thanksgiving Project, or rallying food donations for Master’s Manna, we’re all about making a difference.

Our secret sauce? The Rotary 4-Way Test: “Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Is it beneficial to all concerned?”

And when it comes to putting “Service Above Self,” we’re all in! With over $800,000 invested in Wallingford and surrounding areas through The Wallingford Foundation, we’re here to keep the good going.

ABOUT THE
FOUNDATION

The Wallingford Foundation, our Rotary Club's giving arm, has poured support into the community—think donations for the Children's Room at the library, the Teen House at the YMCA, a pavilion at Doolittle Park, and even vans for local organizations. We’ve helped fund a ventilation system for Master’s Manna, a ropes course at Bertini Park, and COVID relief through United Way, SCOW, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven.

Each year, we award dozens of grants for local events and causes like the Thanksgiving Community Dinner, Project Graduation, In A Heartbeat, Spanish Community of Wallingford (SCOW), The Sisters Project, the YMCA basketball court, Holiday for Giving and more.

On the global front, we’ve joined with our district to fund a water project in Kenya, helping supply a farming village with potable water, digging a well, installing pumps and containment for water storage, and eventually making it possible for them to support their agricultural needs. We also supported the Good Samaritan Hospital in the Dominican Republic, where we set up a community kitchen, shipped an ambulance, medical equipment, and installed thousands of water filters.

LOCAL

Your welcoming spaces have given us a wonderful place to gather, connect, and plan our community service efforts. We truly appreciate your support in helping us continue our mission of “Service Above Self.”

Thank you for being such valuable partners in our journey to make a difference in Wallingford!
